WHAT DO YOU DO?

Artist

FAVOURITE BAND?

I can NOT answer that question… I wouldn’t know where to start choosing one band from all genres and all decades. I will say though that lately I have been giving some serious spins to Future Islands, The Velvet Underground and The Babe Rainbow.

FAVOURITE SONG?

Again, I’m going to be a brat because I couldn't possibly answer that. At this very moment I’m listening to Father John Misty, Hollywood Forever Cemetery Sings, always gooood and I’ll also say Future Islands, Seasons (Waiting On You) because it makes my bones vibrate. They're also two of my favourites to see live.

FAVOURITE FEMALE ARTIST AND WHY?

Again, I’m no good with favourites… In this moment I’m going to say Patsy Cline because I feel you girl and I can relate.

FORKS IN THE ROAD, HOW DO YOU MANAGE THEM?

I’m not the fastest when it comes to decision making and knowing which way to turn when I reach a fork in the road, but after any amount of deliberation it always comes down to gut instinct and what’s in my heart. I make choices based on what feels right at the time and what feels like will bring happiness.

DESCRIBE YOUR WORK ETHIC

I have a strong work ethic which combined with doing work that I enjoy means that I work a hell of a lot and quite intensely. I think you have to be a bit this way to maintain a creative career… it couldn't be sustained if your heart’s only half in it.

DO YOU HAVE A GIRL GANG? WHY DO YOU LOVE THEM?

My girl gang is made up of a group of amazing women that I have known since I was a kid who are like sisters to me, and also a handful of beautiful gals I’ve met along the way who are equally as fun and fierce. I love this misfit bunch to pieces because they are all the clichés of what good friends should be. If my world crumbled tomorrow they would be there with a cup of tea and a hug ready to build it back up. I love my girls.

WHAT WERE YOU LIKE AS A KID? HAS ANYTHING CHANGED?

I was a really shy little kid. I grew up on a farm and always felt a bit out of place in a crowd of other kids, but when I happened to find myself in one I wasn’t centre of attention, I was just happy to be there and share in the laughs. I was super sensitive when it came to feelings but stubborn and quite tough in other respects. If someone tried to tell me I couldn't do or be something you better believe I would do whatever it took to prove them wrong. I loved drawing, listening to music and playing outside. Nothing has changed, I am that same kid.
