Firstly, Electric Lady is as much yours as it is ours. If there is anything you have been wanting to express but don’t have the space to or it doesn’t fit on your personal socials - we would be keen to hear about it and do a more in depth post as well as your profile post.

PROFILE Q’S (ANSWER 5 OF THESE)

Brief: We are trying to capture the spirit of Electric Lady and share it. It’s that feeling of limitlessness in your life or career that comes from years of resilience and perseverance. We want to uncover the hard work that goes into creating and sustaining an electric life. We ain’t all that interested in the usual sparkly things - more interested in the grit that birthed the sparkle.

What do you do? (Explain in any form)

I ride waves with a smile on my face, I live in my board bags and drag them across the world to discover interesting people, new adventures, good surf and nothing makes me feel better than listening to rad music along the way.

Is this what you always dreamed of?

It's even better than I had imagined. Winning titles and trophies is wonderful but they only scratch the surface of the cool opportunities life on tour has offered me.

Hardest moments?

Losing my confidence and happiness for a while after being physically assaulted by my apartment home in Coolangatta. A few stitches, a broken wrist and a guy in jail. It was nice to learn that shit happens...but better to learn to not hold onto it. You can't change time or past events, they just become part of the story book so get back up, evolve and get on with it. I now have a much broader awareness of my surroundings, who I am and how important it is to just be yourself but I also feel its good to be like a ninja underneath, ready for whatever the world will throw at you!

Forks in the road, how do you manage them?

Trust your gut instinct, have faith in the universe, Commit!

Do you have a girl gang? Why do you love them?

I'm one of 17 in our BADASS girl gang called the WSL Women's tour. I love all of these young women because they are fierce, competitive, driven, intelligent, worldly beauties who charge waves, break boundaries and I believe they represent a wonderful image for any woman to look to for inspiration! Plus my friends at home, love them so much- they always make me laugh.

What makes a woman electric?

Independence, confidence, her smile and she finally understands how wonderful and powerful it is to be a woman, that's when the electricity burns and her aura is so bright!

What women do you look up to? (varying fields would be great!)

Diana Vreeland for her boldness. She had so many great quotes, I especially love this one - "You don't have to be born beautiful to be wildly attractive" So many awesome women out there absolutely slaying, heres a few of my favs- Malala Yousafzai, Beyonce, Alison Mosshart, Patti Smith and Willow Smith.

Do you have any little secrets to following your passion?

Let it consume you. Be open to learning every little thing about it never underestimate yourself.

What were you like as a teenager? What major things did you come to realise as you grew up?

I was a total Tomboy with hairy legs and a burning desire to surf my brains out all day long. As i grew into my twenties, i had insecurities and all those shitty feelings of not being beautiful enough but then I came to understand that because I didn't care for the aesthetic or material things when I was young, I was able to pour all of my focus and energy into perfecting my craft therefore the most important thing to me, surfing and winning world titles, came quite naturally and quickly. Now I feel much more comfortable being a strong woman, mixing fierce and feminine, and its easy to accept everyone for their different quirks and styles but its important to be genuine which is the most beautiful trait any person can have.
